چکیده

An 80 x 60 pixels arbitrated address-event imager has been designed and fabricated in a 0.6 μm CMOS process. The value of the intensity is inversely proportional to the inter-spike interval and the read-out of each spike is initiated by the pixel. The available output bandwidth is allocated according to the pixel's demand, favoring brighter pixels and minimizing power consumption. The imager has a large dynamic range: 200dB for an individual pixel. The array has a dynamic range of 120dB. The power consumption is 3.4mW in uniform indoor light and a mean event rate of 200KHz (41.7 effective fps). The imager is capable of 8.3K effective fps. Comments Copyright 2001 IEEE. A biomorphic digital image sensor

An arbitrated address-event imager has been designed and fabricated in a 0.6-μm CMOS process. The imager is composed of 80 x 60 pixels of 32 x 30 μm. The value of the light intensity collected by each photosensitive element is inversely proportional to the pixel’s interspike time interval. The readout of each spike is initiated by the individual pixel; therefore, the available output bandwidth ...

A Foveated Aer Imager Chip

We have developed a foveated imager chip with high resolution photo-cells (referred to as static pixels) in the center that are surrounded by more space consuming adaptive change detection pixels (referred to as dynamic pixels). Inspired by the neurons of biological nervous systems, they emit short voltage pulses, the static pixels with a frequency proportional to light intensity, the dynamic p...

The CAOS Camera Platform – Ushering in a Paradigm Change in Extreme Dynamic Range Imager Design

Multi-pixel imaging devices such as CCD, CMOS and Focal Plane Array (FPA) photo-sensors dominate the imaging world. These Photo-Detector Array (PDA) devices certainly have their merits including increasingly high pixel counts and shrinking pixel sizes, nevertheless, they are also being hampered by limitations in instantaneous dynamic range, inter-pixel crosstalk, quantum full well capacity, sig...

Biologically Inspired Adaptive Address-Event Representation Imager for Particle Localization

This paper describes a biologically inspired imager designed for particle localization in a lab-on-chip system. Lab-on-chip systems demand efficient sensing and communication. The imager serves as the frontend of the system and collects optical information from particles nearby the imager surface without any intervening optics. The imager uses address-event representation (AER), inspired from t...
